The Warp And The Woof

I set me sails for farther shores
In spite of the cloth bein' worn
Tattered just like the shirt on me back
Swaddles in which me was born

The sun she burned me skin to shreds
The moon froze new wounds red
The sea she kept me to her breast
But never kept me fed

The brine seeped through both bolt and wood
To coax my boat's body apart
The sea she kept me to her breast
But wanted me near to her heart
